In the Devi Mahatmya (chapter 2), the gods each give Durga a weapon so she can defeat the buffalo demon Mahishasura. Shiva goes first: he draws a trident out of his own trishul and hands it to her.
Shiva's trident with the damaru drum across the shaft, in silver and gold with red detail. Rounded, double-sided, with the black cord coming straight out of the top prong.
